Anti Greed Art Giveaway
Gobsmacked by the way the banks in colusion with the government have behaved throughout the financial crisis I felt I had to say something ......
I had done several paintings highlighting greed and consumerism but I wanted to reach a broader audience with as strong a statement as I possibly could, the opposite of greed is generosity. I have decided to do three hundred paintings and give them all away.
The opportunity arose when I was approached by Mutate Britain saying they had a space right in the heart of the city, London's financial sector and would I be ready to exhibit in five weeks?
Now I'm going to do it all over again, this time in my home town Dublin which is perfect for this type of show as the Irish public has been given a particularly rough deal from the eejits (politicians, bankers, property developers and the regulators) who were on autopilot with the greed button stuck on go. The anti greed giveaway takes place in the Exchange gallery on exchange street from the 5th of June with the giveaway on the 16th.
